Kanad is a small town in Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh. Kanad comes under Ujjain Division and is is located 18 km towards east from the district headquarters of Agar Malwa, 83 km from Ujjain, 186 km from the State capital of Bhopal. The city is home to many beautiful temples and shrines.
According to the census of 2001 the population of Kanad was 8650. The avg. literacy rate of the town is 61 percent. Malwi is the local language whereas Hindi is the official language of Kanad.
