Kanad is a small town in Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh. Kanad comes under Ujjain Division and is is located 18 km towards east from the district headquarters of Agar Malwa, 83 km from Ujjain, 186 km from the State capital of Bhopal. The city is home to many beautiful temples and shrines.

Kanad cordinates at 23°40'10' North and 76°9'49' East. The region experiences 3 different seasons i.e. winter, monsoon and summer during a year cycle. Summer starts in the mid of March month and lasts till the end of June.The temperatures during daytime may soar up to 42 degree Celsius at times. Humidity is quite low in Kanad. The average temperatures during summers may reach 40 degree Celsius. Southwest monsoons are the main reason for rainfall in Kanad town. Annual rainfall is between 32 to 35 inches. Winters are cold. Temperatures in the winter season remain between 8 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius. Sometimes it drops to 4 degree Celsius.

Kanad is located by the side of Agar-Sarangpur State Highway 41. Kanad is 18 kilometers from Agar Malwa and 186 kilometers away from Bhopal. The Indore Airport (or Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport) is the nearest airport to the town which is about 143 kilometers away from Kanad. Ujjain Junction and Shajapur Railway Stations are two important stations near Kanad.
